This new mom is back and ready to operate!
The Cosmetic Surgery Clinic is home to the “Dream Team”: Dr. Robert Shenker, Dr. Stephanie Ma and Dr. Amy Chesney. This trio has been down a member as Dr. Chesney welcomed her first precious little one into the world. We’re excited to have her back with us for the New Year ahead, bringing her surgical expertise and the precision that comes from her degree in engineering to her specialties: breast surgery, body contouring and labiaplasty. We caught up with her in her first week back in this blog post.
What excites you the most about returning to work?
“It feels so good to be returning to the wonderful work environment we have at The Cosmetic Surgery Clinic. I’ve missed my colleagues, my patients, and the gratification of helping people realize the physical changes they’ve been considering, often for several years, before they opt for surgery. Plastic surgery can have such a profoundly positive effect on people’s lives—this is especially true in the case of breast reconstruction, a part of my practice that I’m very passionate about.”
How has motherhood affected your approach to plastic surgery?
“As a plastic surgeon who happens to be a woman, I have always been sensitive to the body image issues and physical challenges that uniquely affect women. As a new mom, I now possess an even deeper appreciation for the desire to restore form and function to those body parts that are most changed through pregnancy and childbirth. It goes without saying that most women would like to get their pre-pregnancy breasts, tummies and vaginas back! I feel fortunate to be able to help women correct these concerns through breast surgery, tummy tucks and labiaplasty.”
