How long does recovery take?

Recovery from a facelift at The Cosmetic Surgery Clinic involves minimal discomfort and a return home a few hours after surgery. Initial swelling and bruising peak within the first 48 hours and diminish over the next few weeks. You can usually resume light activities around the house within a week and return to non-strenuous work 2 to 3 weeks after surgery.

Makeup can be applied after a few days to help conceal any discoloration. Your final results may take several months to become fully apparent as residual swelling continues to subside.

Our surgeons use meticulous techniques to minimize scarring, placing incisions within natural contours and the hairline. Scars are usually minimal and virtually imperceptible once fully healed.

What will the scars look like?

Yes, many patients choose to combine their facelift with procedures such as a neck lift, fat transfer, eyelid surgery, or a brow lift for a balanced, harmonious transformation.

Can I combine other procedures with a facelift?

While individual results vary, most patients enjoy their rejuvenated look for approximately 7 to 10 years. The longevity of your facelift results depends on factors such as skin quality, age, lifestyle, and genetics. Although the natural aging process will continue, the expertise of our surgeons ensures that your facelift will age gracefully. Dr. Shenker, a Montreal native, is a fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada and has a profound passion for helping patients enhance their natural looks. His accolades include the Gallie-Bateman Resident Research Award and the Harry Whittaker Award. He is a member of the Canadian Society of Plastic Surgeons and the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, among other prestigious organizations.

Dr. Ma, also from Montreal, brings a unique perspective to her practice. She earned her medical degree from McGill University and completed her residency at McMaster University. Dr. Ma further refined her skills with fellowships in Brazil and Spain. She is a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada and a member of the Canadian Medical Association. Dr. Ma is known for her compassionate care and meticulous surgical techniques.
