Are lip fillers right for me?

The nurse injectors on our Beauty Nurse team have advanced training in injectable treatments and are highly skilled in the art of lip enhancement with JUVÉDERM VOLBELLA® and other dermal fillers. They can help you love your lips by making any of the following improvements:

  • Boosting volume for lips so they are fuller and plumper
  • Balancing proportions of the upper and lower lips
  • Defining lips that have become flattened and deflated
  • Enhancing the cupid's bow (the "M" part of your mid-upper lip)
  • Smoothing away vertical lip lines (smoker's lines) around the lips

How much do lip fillers cost in Ontario?

The cost for lip filler treatments at our Kitchener-Waterloo practice typically starts at $650 and varies with the specific filler and amount used. We will provide you with an actual price for your treatment during your consultation.

Can I combine lip fillers with other dermal fillers or BOTOX COSMETIC® treatments?

Yes. We often perform lip injections along with dermal filler treatments for other areas of the face, such as the cheeks or nose. BOTOX or Dysport Aesthetic injections make an excellent complement as well.

What's the best dermal filler for the lips?

Our nurse injectors are experienced with a range of filler options to provide personalized, natural-looking lip enhancement. Options include:

JUVÉDERM®

The JUVÉDERM® family of fillers all contain hyaluronic acid and lidocaine; each product is specially formulated for a specific purpose. Options include:

  • JUVÉDERM® Ultra
  • JUVÉDERM® Ultra Plus
  • JUVÉDERM VOLBELLA®
  • JUVÉDERM VOLIFT®
  • Restylane® Kysse
  • BELOTERO® BALANCE

No need to choose from all of these excellent choices; your injector will pick out the filler or combination of fillers best suited to you.

What are lip injections like?

At The Cosmetic Surgery Clinic, we make these treatments quick and easy. After talking with you about what you want and carefully studying your lips and how they fit with the rest of your face, your injector will create a customized treatment plan. She/he will then inject the dermal filler into specific areas of your lips with a fine needle.

When will I see results?

Lip enhancement results are instant, although temporary redness and swelling is normal. No downtime is needed, so you'll leave our office with the beautiful lips you've been wanting.

How long will my results last?

Lip filler results usually last from 6 to 12 months (in some cases 15 months!) depending on the product and individual factors. Maintenance treatments can keep your lips looking their best as long as you'd like.

What should I avoid after lip injections?

A little TLC up front will minimize discomfort while your lips are sensitive at first and help your results look their best and last their longest. Things to avoid for the first 24 to 48 hours after treatment include:

  • Engaging in vigorous activities
  • Kissing
  • Drinking through a straw
  • Applying lip products such as lipstick and lip balm
  • Eating or drinking anything spicy or hot
  • Exfoliating

Lip Fillers FAQ

Will my lips look natural after fillers?

Our Beauty Nurses® are known for their natural-looking results with injectables—and lip fillers are no exception. They have training and extensive experience in the art of creating full, defined lips that don't look overdone.

Do lip injections hurt?

Because we apply a numbing cream to the lips before the injections and our fillers contain lidocaine, there is very little if any discomfort during the injections. Our skilled injectors use a fine needle to make quick injections, so treatments are typically well tolerated.

How often will additional treatments be needed to maintain my results?

Your treatment schedule will depend on the filler used, how quickly your body breaks down the filler, and other factors. Results typically last from 6 to 12 months, but this timeframe varies between patients.

How long will it take for my lip fillers to completely settle?

It can take about 2 to 3 weeks for swelling to completely fade and the filler to integrate into your lips.
