Liquid Rhinoplasty

What if you could reduce the hump on the bridge of your nose without surgery? Or lift a droopy tip? A liquid rhinoplasty procedure at our Kitchener-Waterloo area practice serving Guelph, London, Windsor, and Cambridge makes cosmetic changes to the nose using dermal fillers rather than surgery. When performed by an experienced specialist, a liquid nose job refines the nose's appearance, creating facial harmony and balance.

What Is Liquid Rhinoplasty?

Liquid rhinoplasty is a nonsurgical, cosmetic nose reshaping procedure that involves strategic and precise injections of dermal fillers. It's an excellent option for patients who want to correct specific concerns with their noses' appearance, such as a dorsal hump, a wide bridge, or a droopy tip. It can also create the appearance of symmetry or straighten a slightly crooked nose. Because fillers add volume to the nose, liquid rhinoplasty will not reduce the size of the nose.

Unlike surgical rhinoplasty, which involves incisions and manipulating bone and cartilage, a liquid nose job doesn't require any recovery time.

What Are the Benefits of Liquid Rhinoplasty?

Many patients believe the advantages of a nonsurgical nose job outweigh its limitations. The pros of a liquid nose job include:

Cost: Surgical rhinoplasty typically can cost anywhere from $5,000 to $10,000, but a nonsurgical nose job's cost is significantly less. Even though a liquid rhinoplasty treatment doesn't provide permanent results, it would still take numerous maintenance treatments to approach the cost of surgery.

Downtime: You can resume your daily routine immediately after the procedure, although there will likely be some bruising.

Control: The amount of filler used during treatment is carefully controlled to ensure desirable results.

Reversible: The hyaluronic acid fillers used during a liquid nose job, such as JUVÉDERM® or Restylane®, can be dissolved by injecting hyaluronidase, an enzyme that breaks down hyaluronic acid. You can think of liquid rhinoplasty as a "test drive" to see if you like the new appearance of your nose.

Versatility: Not only can a liquid nose job correct natural imperfections of the nose, but it can also help patients who underwent surgical rhinoplasty and aren't completely happy with the results.

When Should I Consider Surgical Rhinoplasty Over a Nonsurgical Rhinoplasty?

Surgical rhinoplasty is required to correct structural issues with the nose. Nonsurgical rhinoplasty can't make it easier to breathe. It's also important that you choose a skilled provider who is familiar with the nose's anatomy to avoid complications.

How Is Liquid Rhinoplasty Performed?

The success of a liquid nose job begins at the consultation, when you can describe the concerns you have about the appearance of your nose and explain how you want it to look. Based on that conversation and a physical exam of the nose, your doctor creates a treatment plan that includes choosing the fillers that are best suited for your procedure.

A topical numbing cream applied to the nose about 20 minutes before the treatment helps patients remain comfortable during the injections. Our nurse injectors and doctors make injections with the patient sitting up to observe how the filler is changing the nose's appearance. A patient can even use a hand mirror to see the progress and provide feedback during the treatment.

How long will my results last?

Liquid rhinoplasty results typically last 4 to 6 months depending on how much filler is used and where it is placed. Periodic touch-up can maintain results.
