Education and Training
Dr. Ma’s journey into the field of plastic surgery began with an exceptional foundation in medical education and advanced training. A native of Montreal, she first earned a Bachelor’s degree in physical therapy from McGill University, graduating with great distinction. She then pursued her medical degree at McGill University, where she continued to excel academically, receiving multiple awards for her dedication and excellence.
Dr. Ma completed her plastic and reconstructive surgery residency at McMaster University in Hamilton, Ontario. Her passion for learning and commitment to her craft took her further afield for specialized training. She completed an international fellowship at the renowned Ivo Pitanguy Clinic in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, where she gained expertise in both cosmetic and complex reconstructive surgery. She then undertook additional fellowship training in breast reconstruction and microsurgery at the Hospital de Sant Pau i de la Santa Creu in Barcelona, Spain. These experiences have shaped her approach to surgery, blending artistry with the most advanced techniques.
