Nurse Lauren answers your top 3 CoolSculpting questions.

CoolSculpting

Fat-freezing know-how straight from an expert.

It’s fair to say that Nurse Lauren has her share of fans here at The Cosmetic Surgery Clinic. She’s a joy to work with, and she always goes the extra mile when she cares for a patient. When presented with the new challenge to become an expert CoolSculptor, Lauren dove straight into her role with the passion and enthusiasm that we and our patients have come to expect and appreciate from her. In this blog post, Lauren answers the top 3 CoolSculpting questions she gets from her patients. Read on and learn.

When it comes to Coolsculpting, people want to know: does it hurt?

I feel it’s important to be very transparent when answering this question for patients, as pain and discomfort are different for each individual. From experience, I can say that intially the procedure doesn’t tickle, and it can be a bit uncomfortable. This feeling does not last long—most often about 3-5 minutes—and then you are frozen. I have never had anyone ask me to stop the treatment because they couldn’t tolerate it, not even once. Discomfort afterwards is most often relieved with over-the-counter medication, and in the small percentage of cases where patients are more uncomfortable, I want to reassure them that they will be taken care of, as we have a variety of options available to us to minimize their discomfort.

The second most common question I get is: how long does it take for the treatment?

This answer to this question requires that I address a few variables. Each treatment takes about an hour, so the number of treatments you need will determine how long you will be here in the clinic with me. We have the option to do up to 6 treatments in one sitting, and I have had a couple patients who stay for 8 treatments in total for the day. That is not for the faint of heart, or for the person who goes stir crazy sitting! We are on the brink of getting some new applicators that can cut the treatment times dramatically.

The MOST important question I get asked is: does it work?

My answer to this is: you bet it does! I myself have been a Coolsculpt patient, and I have seen incredible results. If you would like to come in and see me for a consultation, I will be happy to go over my photo album with you, as it has many photos from my very happy patients!
