Q&A with Beauty Nurse Majid. - The Cosmetic Surgery Clinic

Q&A with Beauty Nurse Majid.

The Cosmetic Surgery Clinic, Majid MemandBy now you know The Beauty Nurse® team at The Cosmetic Surgery Clinic. This dream team of experts is here to provide you with the complete aesthetic experience. Each of them excels in their respective area of expertise, is highly-sought after and consistently trained in the latest and greatest techniques and treatments.

Every member of The Beauty Nurse® team brings something special to the table, and we thought it was about time you get to know them a little bit better!

Today, we’ve asked Majid Memand, our resident injectables expert (your go-to for BOTOX COSMETIC®, dermal filler, and BELKYRA™ treatments) to take some time out of his busy schedule to answer some questions for us.

First, tell us a bit about your role on The Beauty Nurse® team at TCSC?

I am The Cosmetic Surgery Clinic’s Nurse Injector. When it comes to cosmetic injectable treatments like BOTOX COSMETIC®, dermal fillers (for lip injections, volume enhancement and more), and BELKYRA™, I’ll be your treatment provider. I also provide cosmetic consultations, chemical peels, and microneedling treatments, in addition to working in the Surgical Recovery Room (PACU).

What inspired you to become a Nurse Injector?

Ever since I was a kid, I’ve been interested in art and inspired by creating beauty. Some of my earliest memories include taking a private calligraphy class in elementary school, and making tiny statues with clay and heating them by throwing them into the campfire when I was only 5 or 6 years old.

Later, in my twenties, thanks to a painter I knew, I was able to experiment with different forms of visual arts. I fell in love with creating art, but I was a busy nurse working in the ICU at two different hospitals; there was not enough time to start from the very beginning to become a professional painter or sculptor.

So, I decided to combine my passion for art with my beloved nursing profession, and that’s when I began my career as a Nurse Injector. Now, art is a part of my days, in the form of contouring cheeks, volumizing lips, and softening wrinkles. I feel like a sculptor or painter, only unlike a canvas or a sculpture, my art is able to talk, move, laugh and smile!

What led you to the team at The Cosmetic Surgery Clinic?

There were a few different factors that led me to the team at TCSC. First, as a Nurse Injector, I wanted to work in a place with an excellent reputation. TCSC is known for their excellent management, talented team, highly skilled employees, brilliant patient experience, and beautiful patient outcomes.

I also wanted to work in a place where I could learn from the experienced staff and improve my skills. TCSC offers a variety of cosmetic procedures performed by staff who are among the best in the field, and I’m enjoying learning about each and every one. Lastly, I wanted to work somewhere where I could get to know the clients that come in to see me for treatment.

Now, what has kept me at TCSC? I love the atmosphere. The team is fully supportive and friendly, and Dr. Shenker is one of a kind. I feel like I get to work with my family members every single day.

What’s your philosophy when it comes to injectable treatments?

The most important thing for me is patient safety. Of course, I also pride myself on achieving the best, most natural-looking results, and on putting a beautiful smile on my patients’ faces, but I always consider the safety of the procedure before anything else.

What advice would you give to a patient considering Botox or dermal fillers for the first time?

First-timers are usually worried about the complications and side effects, and whether they’ll love the results. My advice is always to start with baby steps; if you love it, you can always go for more. I also highlight the importance of seeing a skilled and knowledgeable Nurse Injector for your first (and all subsequent) treatment. A reliable Nurse Injector will have great knowledge of facial anatomy and be familiar with signs and symptoms of complications.

What is the most rewarding part of your job?

The most rewarding part of my job is seeing the happiness on a client’s face, or reading a message from a happy patient. I love hearing that a client feels more confident as a result of their treatment with me!

What do you like to do in your spare time? Any hobbies?

I used to hike and mountain climb in the chain mountains in the north of Tehran. Here, I enjoy hiking on different trails, and I really enjoy photography. I also fly my RC plane sometimes (although I’m an amateur), and spend my evenings watching the news, mostly on BBC.

Share one fun fact about yourself!

My dad was a scrub nurse, and I used to go with him to the OR sometimes. So, I’ve been familiar with the OR environment since I was 5 years old!
