Meet Ashley Mercer, our newest Beauty Nurse®

We’re pleased to welcome our newest Beauty Nurse® Ashley Mercer (RN).

We’re highly selective about who we bring on board, but we knew right away that Ashley was a great fit for our team. Our Beauty Nurse team brings a wealth of experience to each cosmetic treatment –– to refresh, rejuvenate, and restore your natural beauty. Ashley brings a unique skill set with her clinical experience and incredible attention to detail.

Ashley comes to us with a rich resume full of clinical experience and formative training.

Ashley graduated from The University of Ottawa with her BScN in 2008 and started her career as a new graduate in the Intensive Care Unit at the Civic Hospital. She’s spent most of her career working in fast-paced ICU’s in two of the best teaching hospitals in Canada: The Ottawa Hospital and St. Michael’s Hospital.

Ashley also spent 5 years working in remote communities of Northern Ontario and Nunavut as an outpost RN serving First Nations and Indigenous Communities.  She had a short stint in the Recovery Room at Cambridge Memorial Hospital where she had the pleasure of meeting Dr. Shenker.  Ashley spent most of the pandemic serving in Critical Care and in her spare time went back to school to obtain her Medical Esthetic Practitioner Certificate through Centennial College as well as another Certificate for Neuromodulators and Fillers through THMA Consulting.

She’s passionate about skincare, beauty, and getting her patients results that meet their vision.

Ashley loves helping patients reach their aesthetic goals through laser rejuvenation and non-invasive injectable options. She’s always had a love of beauty and makeup and has always practiced creative expression in aesthetics with a passion.

We asked Ashley a few questions so that our patients could get to know her better.

Hello! Firstly, what do you love about the aesthetic industry?

I love everything about skincare and beauty. I have always been the go-to friend for recommendations for the best skin care products and makeup options, so I absolutely love that I’m now qualified, trained, and certified to consult with clients on their aesthetic needs. I enjoy helping people decide on the best options for their skincare goals to help them gain the results they are looking to achieve.

You do so many different things in the day-to-day life of a Beauty Nurse®. What’s your favourite part of your job?

My favorite part of my job is combining the unbeatable results of BBL laser therapy and Botox and watching how elated clients are when they achieve such an amazing enhancement of their natural beauty. I love the connections and relationships I get to build with my clients over things that bring joy to their life. My favorite part about working at TCSC is how warm and inclusive my co-workers and the environment are. It really is a holistic/collaborative approach here and the goals are a natural enhancement of each person’s own beauty. I really value helping people find their best attributes and help them to feel great about themselves. I feel proud to work here and look forward to a bright future at TCSC!

What do you do when you’re not making dreams come true at the clinic?

In my spare time I love to spend days at the beach with my family, dinners with friends and exploring new towns and trails, listening to a great podcast or audiobook. I enjoy cooking and trying new foods. I look forward to bringing my son around the world and showing him new places to explore, new foods and cultures.

What’s one thing you wish all your patients knew? 

One thing I wish all my patients knew is that small, simple daily changes really can change the trajectory of your journey to looking and feeling your best.
