How does liposuction for a double chin work?
If you have excess fat under your chin, liposuction is a great option to precisely target this stubborn fat for a smoother, more streamlined appearance. During the procedure, the surgeons will continually monitor the fat removal to create the most beautiful, defined jawline for your unique proportions. The exact surgical procedure will depend on the amount of excess fat, but generally, one or two small incisions are made underneath the chin and along the hairline—and a cannula is inserted to remove excess fat and sculpt the neck. What is the recovery like?
After surgery, most patients experience swelling and minor bruising. Compression garments can help minimize the swelling while also promoting healing.The swelling usually begins to subside a week or so after surgery, while the bruising can last a few weeks. Pain can be controlled with oral medication and the clinic staff will educate you on how to change and care for your incision dressings. Typically, about 3 to 5 days after surgery, you will be able to return to your normal everyday activities as you are able to tolerate.
