If you’re seeking a treatment that restores volume and smooths wrinkles, Sculptra® may be an option. Unlike traditional dermal fillers, Sculptra works gradually to stimulate your skin’s natural collagen production. At The Cosmetic Surgery Clinic in Ontario, we offer Sculptra for patients from Kitchener-Waterloo, Guelph, London, Windsor, and Cambridge, with results that typically develop over time and may last up to 2 years.
What Is Sculptra?
Sculptra is a Health Canada-approved injectable made from poly-L-lactic acid (PLLA), a biocompatible material that encourages natural collagen production. Instead of simply “filling in” lines directly, it works to support your skin’s underlying structure over time. As new collagen forms, the treated areas may regain volume and appear smoother.
What Does Sculptra Treat?
A highly versatile injectable, Sculptra can be used to:
- Soften deep wrinkles and folds (such as smile lines and marionette lines)
- Restore volume in areas of the face, including the cheeks, temples, and jawline
- Rejuvenate aging hands that appear thin or veiny
Our experienced injectors use a careful, individualized approach to align treatment with each patient’s needs.
What To Expect From Treatment
During a Sculptra session, the product is injected beneath the skin with a fine needle. Temporary swelling or bruising may occur, but it usually resolves within a few days. Because collagen develops gradually, most patients need 2 to 4 sessions spaced several weeks apart.
How Long Do Sculptra Results Last?
Sculptra results typically last up to 2 years, although individual experiences vary. While other dermal filler treatments may require more frequent touch-ups, Sculptra may provide longer-lasting improvement. Some patients may also benefit from maintenance sessions to support continued results.
